Become aware
What is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder?
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is a term used to describe disorders that result from prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE).
FASD includes Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), Alcohol-Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder (ARND), and Alcohol-Related Birth Defects (ARBD).
HOW DOES FASD EFFECT THE COMMUNITY?
15% of women are unaware that drinking while pregnant is dangerous. 1 in 5 women who are pregnant consume while pregnant. FASD is the leading cause of preventable cognitive, developmental, and physical impairments in the United States lack of awareness leads to negative fetal/infant health outcomes, increased disparities in pre and post natal care, and the perception that education, policy change, and resource availability is not necessary.

Resources
Tahirah S. Mujihad Family Pantry was created in honor of Tahirah S. Mujahid a advocate of family unification. The pantry is part of the FASD Project, which strives to give parents what they need to combat any stress caused by socioeconomic disparities like low/no income and access to resources.
Participants will receive free books for their children to increase literacy and to help build a family library. The pantry is available for participants with a newborn to three-month-old baby.
We offer new and expecting moms with:
• Baby Essentials
• Hygiene Kits
• Household cleaning supplies
